Dragon boat race on Windermere for wear it pink day 2010wmv

A group of journalists and presenters from the Cumbrian media took part in a dragon boat race on Windermere to raise money to help fight breast cancer on wear it pink day on Friday 29th October 2010. The media team included journalists and presenters from Radio Cumbria, Lakeland Radio, the Westmorland Gazette and the North West Evening Mail. They were joined by staff from English Lakes and Osprey Communications. The media team faced tough competition from the Paddlers for Life crew, a team of breast cancer survivors from Cumbria and Lancashire based at the Low Wood Bay on the shores of Windermere. The cancer dragon boat phenomenon started in 1996 in Canada when a sports medicine doctor formed the first crew. Research has shown that physical activity involving teamwork and paddling can give cancer survivors both physical and emotional benefits, as well as helping to build friendship and support networks. Paddlers for Life has two dragon boats at the Low Wood Bay Watersports Centre where it has been based since 2008 and meets most Sundays to practice. Paolo Adduce (alias Maltese) รจ nato il 05/07/1979 ad Ivrea in provincia di Torino. Cresce in una famiglia dove la musica ha sempre avuto un ruolo estremamente importante. All' etร di soli tre anni si arrampica sullo sgabello del pianoforte e improvvisa ad orecchio le musiche delle pubblicitร e dei film. A cinque anni suo fratello comincia ad impartirgli le prime lezioni di pianoforte. A sei anni compone giร le sue prime musiche. A quattordici anni il suo comportamento testardo e ribelle lo porta a decidere di lasciare le lezioni da privatista per il conseguimento del diploma al conservatorio di Torino. Da lรฌ in poi matura un suo stile suonando ogni giorno, componendo e improvvisando. Verso i 17 anni si avvicina alla chitarra, che presto diventa il suo nuovo strumento di scrittura. Si appassiona poi alle percussioni tribali, basso elettrico, armonica, flauto dolce, organo, clavicembalo. A 22 anni comincia a seguire lezioni di canto tenute da Paola Mei ed entra a far parte del " Quincy Blue Choir ", coro di ispirazione Gospel, col quale partecipa ad un'ampia attivitร concertistica (Teatro Piccolo Regio Puccini - Torino; Teatro Nuovo - Torino; Grand Hotel Billia - St.Vincent...)...
